Der_Kevin
Hey! I just bought Affinity and its really great. Somehow I want to use it more for UI Design/Layouting but there are some Features missing. The most important one would be to have a Scale 9 Support. If you dont know what this is i could explain it quickly. Its about Stretching an element but dont stretch the Corners. So you define a Stretch area in the beginning and then you can stretch it to infinty and it will always looks good. so something like this: GFX Library: Also pretty useful would be to have a Library Panel where you have all you favorite/pre defined UI element like scrollbar, buttons, frames in it and just drag and drop them from your Library to your Canvas. something similar to pixeldropr http://pixeldropr.com/ Master Page A Master Page Feature like in In Design would also be UI Designers favorite Toy. so when you change the Background/Header/Footer of your app in this Master Page, it changes everywhere else where this is Defined as Master Page Guide Guide i could not find any function to put a Guide at exactly X px by entering the value of it. Also something similar to Guide Guide for Photoshop would be useful http://guideguide.me/ so where you can set up a Guide in the middle of a document, divide the layout into X areas of the same size so, what do you think about that? Or is something like this even planed? NobleValerian
Dave Harris
GFX Library and Master pages are planned (master pages probably having to wait until we have more than one page per document). You can place guides exactly by using the Guide Manager from the View menu. Scale 9 support sounds interesting but outside my area, so I'll let one of the others comment on that. grzessnik
Scale 9 is AI symbols feature and it is really great help. It is really hard to imagine how to create buttons and panels without it.
Der_Kevin
You can place guides exactly by using the Guide Manager from the View menu. Thanks :) just discovered it. really great solution to have all guides in a list. I think some kind of presets would help here. like "middle of iphone 5 layout - 568px"
Der_Kevin
so, any news about the scale 9 stuff one year later?
meefox
Hello guys, any news about GFX Library and Master page? Thank you!
Dave Harris
Designer 1.5 has an Assets panel, which I think is what you mean by GFX Library. It also has Symbols, which may be better suited to UI design than Master pages.
