APu: text wraps around objects mirrored from the other Master Page in a spread.

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a strange problem. If I use mixed Master Pages for a single spread, the text on the other page flows around the objects from the other Master, that are however not there.

Please see the images, it's quite clear:

(see the red circle around the spot in the lower third of the right side)

This is the Master applied on the left side (on previous picture, it's a bit modified, that's why the right and left sides don't match):

Its quite strange, probably a bug. In the attachment, I will add the (shortened) APu file, as soon as I get home.

It shows in both V1 and V2, and no matter, whether the Windows or Mac version. I haven't really checked that on iPad, as the hyphenation there is a mess...

Thanks for any suggestion and help. I mean, it's not the end of the world, but I would still prefer to not have such artifacts...

Thanks!

Here on Mac OS 11.7.2 I can apply the left side of a two page Master/Parent page to the left side of a two page spread by selecting the left page (actual page) in the pages panel, it should have a blue highlight around that page only, and choosing Apply Master... from the context menu. Only the left Master page will be applied.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Well, I did exactly this, and as you see, in my example, the correct master is applied on one side only... with the exception of the text wrapping on the other side.

Just for your info, the Master A, applied on the right side, looks like the right side, no fleurs de lis in the middle, just on the top and the bottom.

It looks as though the master always applies on a spread, in a way, no matter how you apply it. And some elements shadow like this.

As I said, this is probably not the intended behaviour, which however doesn't make it any less strange or annoying. Or maybe there is some enigmatic switch like "mirror the shades of the new Master Page on the other page, where it's not applied," and I just didn't find it...
