Can't open .HEIC in v2 that v1 can open

I've attached the picture that I took with my iPhone 14 Pro that I can open in v1, but will not open in v2.  Ventura 13.0.1 (22A400)

Confirmed will not open in V2

But if opened in V1 and saved as a AFPhoto document, that document will open in V2 allowing you to utilise the V2 functions if need be

Yep, that's my current workaround.  Seeing some weirdness while editing, but will post that separately.

I've just checked a bunch of .heic files in the new beta's for Windows and macOS and they seem to be opening fine.

They open for me in V2 but it crashes if you use the develop persona immediately. Even saving it as an affinity file doesn't help.

Update:

Now appears to open & work OK in 2.0.3 release

Agreed.  Just opened a few recent HEIC files and even used the develop persona without a problem.
