kaunteya
Any plans for a component which can open anything in app. What? Anything menu is a text box which can be triggered by a shortcut key and does fuzzy search on all the options available. Similar to Sublime Text or OS X's Spotlight. Type anything and it is there Anything menu can do anything like * Open some advanced options like Axis Manager.(I personally find View menu very long) * Selecting tools * Do operation on selected objects like align, Copy, lock etc Why? It makes sense to assign a shortcut, only to the frequently required operations like ⌘J for duplicate Since I am a new User I have to find things like "Grid and axis manager", also there is no sense in assigning a shortcut because such options are not frequently required. Anything menu can bridge this gap. It can toggle options, open modals, do selections and every other thing in the box. Thus it will definitely not make keyboard shortcuts useless but will make discovery easier So, Lets say I have to do something but unaware of the location of option in menu, I could immediately open anything menu and start typing tags which I could relate Anything menu can be stretched to such an extent that every discrete operation(which usually involves single click like selecting Pen Tool, JustinSl
R C-R
I just noticed this post but since there have been no other replies I thought it worth mentioning that what kaunteya is requesting sounds a lot like what the Help menu search feature already offers.... Singapored
The help menu is surprisingly useful. I use it in all OSX apps.
R C-R
I get the general impression that a lot of Mac users rarely if ever use the Help menu in any application. Since I need all the help I can get, I refer to it often.
