tombro
When I try and open files on my fileserver I get a message saying that the file couldn't be opened because the file is already open in another application. Which it isn't. Edited November 28, 2022 by tombro Clarification
emmrecs01
@tombro Welcome to the Affinity forums. Have you tried first copying the file(s) to your local computer? Do they then open properly in whichever version of APh you have? Komatös
Hi @tombro Do you use a NAS? And if so, from which manufacturer? Is the connection to the network folder made directly or via a drive link? tombro
Hi, yes, it's a TrueNAS SMB share. I can open the same file fine with other software.

Yeah, this is not the issue, and yes I am running as an administrator, I thought you meant to run the app as an administrator like you can in Windows. It seems this is a bug in Affinity Photo related to file locking on SMB shares.
Staff Callum Posted February 20, 2023 Staff Share Posted February 20, 2023 Hi TomBro, Sorry for the late response to your post. Does TrueNAS use a management app of any sort etc? If it does does closing this app allow you to open the file? Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
