JRPhotos Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) Hi, this isn't really a bug per se, but i'm not sure where to post. I borrowed an R6 to test out. Looking at one of the snaps, all the high contrast wires and edges have rainbow green and pink colours. The effect is better controlled in AP v1.10, but it's still visible. In DXO PhotoLab6, the same high contrast edges show simply as white. Is there a problem with support for CR3 from R6, or is there something I've selected wrong in settings? I've pasted some crops at 100% from the 3 software, opened image only and screenshot (no manual adjustment). High-contrast wire and stair edge shows green and pink "rainbows" To be clear, i'm not familiar with DXO software (just downloaded a trial version). I don't know if its automatically applying some settings, because it is sharper that AP images. Defringe/Chromatic abberation tool does nothing. Last image is 300% zoom of a different section to show colour detail. Thanks! Edited November 25, 2022 by JRPhotos extra info added Quote
Staff Chris B Posted November 25, 2022 Staff Posted November 25, 2022 Hey JRPhotos, Can you share the raw file with us please? If it's worse in V2 than V1 I'd really like to investigate this! Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
JRPhotos Posted November 25, 2022 Author Posted November 25, 2022 Hi Chris, I've attached the file from the above samples. I just wanted to correct my above evaluation re: DXO's software. I didn't realize it is automatically applying a number of adjustments, and some of that coloured fringing is visible if I turn those edits off. That seems like the root of the issue is the lens/camera--i'll need to check with Canon on that (I was testing the gear as a Canon sponsored demo, so i'd expect it was in good condition). That said, there is still a difference between v1.10 and v2.0 on my system. 885A9764.CR3 Quote
ArtPhoto Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) My CR3 Raw pictures look fine in Canon DDP software as well as in the camera itself as in Topaz Denoise. However in Affinity Photo(1) it has a higher saturation, it has more magenta (too red) and the whitebalance is way off compared to the original. Reading above I am affraid this still is not ok in Affinity Photo2? So when I purchase Affinity Photo2 I will still have that issue? Will affinity solve this soon? Kind regards Art Edited November 27, 2022 by ArtPhoto Quote
