text fields shift+click freezes the app

The bug affects all V2 apps, not just designer

 

 

. V1 has no such problem. This is what I did:

1. select any text related objects in the document. (either frame text, artistic text, text path, table)
2. Shift+click twice on any empty space (double-click is not necessary)
3. That's it. App freezes.

At this point I can unfreeze the app by making the app window out focus and wait few seconds. If I minimize the app by clicking the task bar icon, the app will stay freezing. End task with task manager is the only resolve.

I can confirm this. Simple artistic text -> edit -> SHIFT click 2 times outside -> freeze

 

In some cases the app recovers after 20 - 30 Seconds freeze. In other cases i had a complete crash -> app window disappeared. In other cases i had to force shutdown via task manager. In case the software recovered during the freeze phase there was a siginficant CPU usage:

Yes, happens here as well, although on occasion, the app will respond again after a minute or so.

Thanks for providing detail, I've been able to replicate this issue and it has now been logged with the developers for resolution.

On my PC the programs only freeze without shutdown, this also happens in the current beta version (1742).

The issue "App freezes when shift+click twice in a blank space with Art text or frame selected. " (REF: AFB-6977) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1925".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
