Geopence
I am using OSX Ventura with an Apple Notebook Pro using the M1 cpu. I have been using Affinity Photo, but I have now purchased and installed the new version 2 programs via a universal license. However, when I access photo extensions in the settings app all that is available is Affinity Photo, and not Affinity Photo 2. I would like to replace my previous extensions with the new version 2 extensions... how do I make that happen?
Staff Chris B Posted November 24, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 24, 2022 Hey Geopence, The extensions have been removed for V2. The only option that we have now is 'Edit in Affinity Photo' - interestingly, it does not specify Affinity Photo 2 which it probably ought to. Do you mean it should specify & use V2 or that the option is only available with V1? FWIW, in Apple Photos on my Mac, I see two "Edit in Affinity Photo" items, but only the first works & opens V1. The second one does nothing. markw
Yes, it would be helpful if the new v2 extension (shown last in the list of available extensions on my system) actually had the number 2 included in it’s name. It’s thumbnail is actually the new AP2 icon but at such a small size it’s not terribly distinctive.@R C-R both v1 and v2 Edit in Affinity Photo extensions work and launch their respective apps for me here. markw
Yep, it’s that last one in your screenshot, the one that dose nothing, that should launch AP2. We are both on the same OS version so very odd that it’s not working for you? Dose a system restart wake it up at all? markw
Was afraid you would say that! Not sure I can suggest anything right now that might be stopping it...🤔? In Apple Photos if you right click on an image, dose selecting 'Edit With' and then choosing AP2 work?
