Selecting an Artboard automatically selects full-area background object

Recommended Posts

1) create artboard

2) create background object (same size as the artboard, e.g. a background)

3) create some other objects, place them on the artboard

4) create second artboard

5) select "artboard" tool from the toolbar

6 click on first artboard and observe layers

--> The Artboard tool selects the artboard as well as the background object

I think this is what I’m running into when I have an artboard set up with different objects layered on it, including the full-area background. When I try to duplicate the full artboard - even when tapping on it in the layers panel (I’m using it on an iPad Pro 12.9 gen 5) - and then I touch and hold/drag the artboard, it only selects the full-area background. Version 1 never had this issue. Did you ever figure it out? It drives me nuts.

The issue "Using Artboard tool. Selecting an object on an unselected artboard. Selects just the object not the artboard on v2. " (REF: AFD-6175) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1857".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
