Connection to document lost

It happened to me a couple of times now: When trying to save a publisher document I've been working on for longer I suddenly get this message:
Publisher_lh96dKnmUk.png.ba928996ae779f94c28f62f52430bb2a.png

Mostly an older recoveryversion was found and could be restored. But when trying to save this recovered version with the same file name the old file is still "blocked" (write protected):

It's not a bug that is easy reproducable. It just seems to happen accasionally. Still changes were lost when the first message comes up. Even if access to the file is lost I at least should be able to do a "Save as ..."

Cheers, Timo

Haven't been working with AP since. Files were (I assume) saved on a network drive - but the network connection was not lost.

Comment:  AP  is Affinity Photo. If you mean Publisher, that is Publisher, or APu or APub. (You can hover a mouse over the underlined abbreviations to see what they mean.)

I see this has been tagged with a bug tag, so someone from Serif has probably looked at it. You can see all the topics tagged by clicking on the tag in the topic header, which would take you here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AFB-5409

The issue "Files saved to removable storage/network drives can lose access force close" (REF: AFB-5409) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.2.0.1900".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
