Can you apply the rainbow style or a rainbow gradient to strokes rather than fills?

Hi. I'd like to make a black or colorless word logo with a rainbow stroke. Every time I try it fills in my letters and I do not see how to make a rainbow stroke. Is this possible please? Thanks!

Have a look at the Outline Quick FX with the Contour Fill Style – see attached image.

If you are doing this with curves generated from fonts then you will need to carefully remove some of the curves so you don’t get ‘double contours’ around the shapes.

Or, you could use the same Effect on some text which has had the Contour Tool applied to it.
My attached image show the effect on Arial Regular text.
