garywright
I started trying to download the update from Affinity Photo v.1.4 to v.1.4.1 on Jan 22. Two days later I'm still getting the error: "Affinity Photo failed to download. Use the Purchases page to try again." When I go to the <Purchased> tab of the App Store, I get the same error. Is this something Affinity can fix, or do I need to start troubleshooting with Apple? -gw
Staff MEB Posted January 25, 2016 Staff Share Posted January 25, 2016 Hi Gary, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Drag Affinity Photo from the Applications folder to the trash and delete it. Then try to install it again from the App Store. Let me know if you still have trouble. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
garywright
Hi Gary, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Drag Affinity Photo from the Applications folder to the trash and delete it. Then try to install it again from the App Store. Let me know if you still have trouble. That worked. After deleting AP 1.4, the App Store asked if I wanted to "continue download" - which I did. Now running AP v.1.4.1 Thanks!
Mojo_Mike
Hi, I'm getting the same error, even after I moved all of the Affinity Photo Trial entries in the Applications folder to the Trash and then emptied the Trash. My situation is somewhat different in that Affinity Photo was purchased thru the App Store by a family member (our family uses iCloud family sharing and I am the organizer of the family). That family member was able to successfully download / install Affinity Photo. When I try to install it on my computer, I get the message "Affinity Photo failed to download Use the Purchases page to try again."
barninga
Mojo_mike, i experience this problem with more than one program (not ap) i downloaded from the app store. i simply try again several times, alternatively from the update and the download pages, until it works. however, you wrote that you deleted all of the trial entries. the problem should not be related to trial entries at all, since these are not downloaded from the app store. if you still have an app store downloaded (not trial) in the applications folder, try deleting that one too.
