Photo V2 (Stoopid Question) Where is import from photos option? (images inside)

Recommended Posts

In the original affinity photo for iPad, no need for you to create a document, the app created one for you, dimensions based on the imported photo from your photo app gallery:

In photo v2 for iPad, where is the import from photos option?   I must be blind.. I can’t find it? It’s none of the menus you see:

 Any help appreciated, thanks.

If you long press on New, a drop down will pop up and you can then choose import from photos…

Long press… what the hell. 🤪

Wow, I don’t understand the UX reason on that one, first instinct is to tap screen not long press.
I would had never guessed that one, thank you BIG TIME!

Doesn't have to be a long press. Could be a press and drag toward the triangle on the lower-right edge of the icon. That trianble is the key to knowing what to do, just as for Tools within the document window where several tools share the same spot in the Tools list.

Or there's the Help, and the Tutorials.

But the tools triangle icon works better, I never learnt the drag right gesture in V1, I always precision tapped the triangle on the tools twice which brings out the other options so I also spent a day precision tapping this huge triangle but it does not react to double tap on the home screen and so could not get it to work.

Just touch and hold(Long press) with pencil. Works fine no precision needed.

Yes, but for 6 years I never used it like that and always thought a double tap was required, I never use my fingers always the Apple pencil

I’m glad that I found this post, you see, I like to tinker around with things before running off to view manuals or tutorials, its all part of the learning and error process curve.

I was looking for the stitch panorama option, I could not find it for the love of me, it did not even occur to me to long press on the icon at the start LOL.

However, I thought I would just pop in to see if I can find anything either here or in the manual, well I am certainly glad that I came and checked as I’m back to stitching and creating my panoramas.

Like someone said previously, it really is a case of an Old Dog learning New Tricks.

Great work on the new AP2 though guy/gals, just a little bit of a re-learning curve, all part of the fun though.
