MichaelMeeuwissen Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 (edited) Is it possible to implement a power duplicate button on the iPad . In the second video you can see that there is a power duplicate button for the 3d fx on top of the screen . So this must be possible for a quick object duplicate . Would be a really timesaver IMG_9542.MOV IMG_9547.MOV Edited November 22, 2022 by MichaelMeeuwissen Showing additional content kyptanuy 1 Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 The Duplicate button is supposed to perform that function. The Help describes how, if you search for duplicate (if I remember correctly).  Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC:    Desktop:  Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090   Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.    Laptop 2: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 16GB memory, Snapdragon(R) X Elite - X1E80100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) 12 Core CPU 4.01 GHz, Qualcomm(R) Adreno(TM) X1-85 GPU iPad:  iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 18.5, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sequoia 15.5

walt.farrell Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 That doesn't mean you need a button. It could mean either you're not doing it right, or you've found a bug. walt.farrell Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Thanks. It wasn't clear to me from your Video, but after trying it myself I understand what you mean. It currently takes 2 taps to perform each Duplicate in a Power Duplicate operation. Easiest, today, is to click on the Edit menu, then duplicate. Then click Edit, then Duplicate. Etc. For both ways of performing Duplicate the menu disappears after each operation, which is inconvenient. Good feature request! mrqasq Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Should just be step and repeat option, existing in DTP software for how long? 20 years? Maybe more.. For now you could just duplicate 5 objects, and than select them and power duplicate them instead 1 object - do it for 5. This will sped up the workflow. Quote

This isn’t an option as you can see in the second video Quote
mrqasq Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Why not? Instead of duplicating 1 object 25x, you can duplicate 5 objects 5x or 12 objects twice and add 1. It's doable, I did that many times in the past in variety of software that didn't have S&R function. Quote

You don’t understand it . Try to do this the way you describe it . This is available on the desktop version , just hold cmd or ctrl+ jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj and your object will be duplicated rotated and scaled every time the same amount IMG_9549.MOV Quote
