Color Picker Tool does not work outside Affinity

The color picker tool does not work outside the Affinity window. The tool will then turn pink or purple.
Within Affinity the tool works fine. I work with the IOS version of Affinity Designer.
What's going wrong?

You have posted this in a macOS section of the forums but you say you are using iOS.
If you really are using iOS then a moderator may move this thread for you so it’s in the right place and can be seen by the right people.

Note: The problem may be something to do with the OS not allowing the application to record the screen but I don’t use macOS or iOS so I can’t help you find the necessary setting(s).

Technically, on an iPad we use iPadOS, not iOS (which I think is just for iPhones).

On my iPad, I cannot get either the Color Picker or the Color Sampler to operate outside the application window.

On macOS, if you try to sample outside the application window, you are prompted to allow screen recording. If you deny that permission, you pick from the desktop wallpaper (based on a recent other topic).

I don't believe the Colour Picker/Sampler within our app is designed to sample from outside the app window. That being said I don't think iPadOS has this feature available, I've tested some other similar apps that have colour pickers and they are also limited to just the apps window.

If the option becomes available within iPadOS, it's a feature you can request our developers add in a future update.
