drkanukie
Implemented in Designer so far - the swatch reflow is tricky but this works currently. Also Mac and Windows version behave differently and affinity saves .clr files on Mac rather than .afpalette. This is the best swatch picker pattern by far as in the way it groups hues and tints makes color selection so much easier very glad to have go this to work. This version uses a 20 swatch row length. drkanukie
Fixed the problem with Mac - this now works on both Mac & Windows Visibone2x20.afpalette Aammppaa and StillSneezy

Drag the panel wider till it's 20 rows - the fixed swatch panel is this size the sidebars can be dragged wider it should look as in the top post. drkanukie
This in Mac Desiger swatch panel This is the fill swatch pull down tab - this can't be resized so determines the palette width so it works in both places
Comatose
Thank you, have tried it and it works fine, all I had to do was resize the swatch window and it works as described, again thanks
jmwellborn
@drkanukie Doesn't come out the same way here. Top row: 20 squares on the left, 19 squares on the right. Bottom row: 18 squares. Fewer squares are just a jumble of colors. Anyway, 20 squares is pretty workable. Thank you! drkanukie
Correct, I have found at least one other instance of the swatch panel where the row length varies in the gradient color picker swatch option, there is just no way to combat the places where the row length varies as the swatch only works when its displayed on a specific row length - I picked 20 as that can be set in the color panel as it has a variabe width and its hard coded in the swatch picker in the single color but the gradient uses hard coded 15. Ideally Affinity would use one consistent row size to allow this sort of swatch to work in every swatch selector. There isnt a workaround to have an 15 row version as the swatch requires a 16x16 grid
drkanukie
I had to remodel the swatch to fill a 15x16 grid this swatch is Visibone2G for Gradient picker. As the swatch in the gradient picker is sticky this seems to be a reasonable workaround. Visibone2G.afpalette

With Visibone 2G the best alternative is with 16 blocks. With Visibone2 the best is 18 blocks and the colors are much more scattered. drkanukie
You have to use a different swatch in different context - some are 15 wide others are 20 wide just pick the one that works for the swatch picker you are using. In the sidebar you can change the width so its not so critical but that's the only place you can change the width jmwellborn
