Hi,

I have two Master pages. Both 2-page spreads.

Master Start has a single text frame on the right-hand page

Master Main has a text frame on both pages

My first 2-page spread has Master Start applied, and the second 2-pages has Master Main applied. I place a RTF file into the first page and it appears in the single right-hand frame as expected.

Clicking on the text frame flow triangle while holding the shift key on the first page, starts the text flowing to the right-hand page text frame, instead of the left as required. Additional pages are automagically created, with the text flowing to the right-hand frame only each time.

Hardware Overview:

  Model Name: Mac mini

  Model Identifier: Macmini7,1

Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Core i5

  Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz

  Number of Processors: 1

  Total Number of Cores: 2

L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

  L3 Cache: 3 MB

  Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled

  Memory: 8 GB

  System Firmware Version: 474.0.0.0.0

  OS Loader Version: 540.120.3~22

  SMC Version (system): 2.24f32

TIA

That's because you don't have the left- and right-side text frames linked on the Master Page applied to that first page. And when you Shift+Click on the Linking icon, you get duplicates of that page and its Master.

Why do you have two Master Pages for this? I think that's the root of your problem. But if you need that setup, don't Shift+Click on the Linking icon. Click on it, then click on the text frame on page 2. That will link the frame on page 1 with the frame on page 2. Then (assuming you've linked both frames on Master Main) you can just Shift+Click on the Linking triangle on page 3.

By the way, welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. And here's a suggestion for using the forums: you asked this as a question only 16 hours ago. It's not a bug, so simply waiting for an answer to your question would probably have been better.

You're welcome.

And all of us get things wrong as we go along, so don't worry about it. Some things are complex.
