After quite a bit of troubleshooting, I have verified that Affinity Publisher 2.0 crashes whenever my thunderbolt charging cable is plugged in.

This happens only to Publisher documents that were created from scratch in version 2. Documents created in version 1 are not affected.

I'm running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019 model.

I haven't experienced this issue either. Does Publisher crash when you plug in the cable or do you mean that if left unattended that Publisher crashes while the computer charges. I ask because there have been sporadic reports of Affinity crashing when left unattended or the computer waking from sleep.

I've had it crash once when waking from sleep myself.

Publisher 2 opens fine, even with the charging cable connected. The crash occurs as soon as I open a document that was created in version 2.

Version 1 documents are stable.

Eventually, my version 2 documents corrupt to the point that they won't open at all.

I was wrong regarding what is causing my crashes in Publisher v2.

It is the default setting in the Preflight menu that is the culprit. Changing the setting from ‘Live’ to ‘Never’ has stopped by Publisher 2 documents from crashing. Of coarse, you have to change this setting on each document that you create. (Maybe there's a way to make this a universal change, but I have not figured out how to do that.)

In summary, if you plan on linking image files to your Publisher v2 documents, you may have greater success if you first change the Preflight setting from ‘Live’ to ‘Never’.

Hi @Glen W,

Thanks for your report and our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. We are exceptionally busy following the release of V2 and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding here.

I can confirm we've since released a few updates for Publisher 2, the latest being 2.0.4 - running this version here I'm unable to replicate the crashing behaviour you've described here. Can you please confirm if the same is true for you in this most recent version?

Many thanks in advance :)
