Girlvsworld Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Trying to create text on a path and making adjustments to the path makes the app crash. Tried making incremental saves, but each time the app crashes the file reverts back to the same spot before the saves, so saving is not actually working. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted November 29, 2022 Staff Posted November 29, 2022 Hi @Girlvsworld Can you attach a screen recording of your workflow? I can't replicate this issue here Quote
Girlvsworld Posted November 30, 2022 Author Posted November 30, 2022 I’m having a few issues with the app crashing and I don’t know what causes it, the three times it’s happened know it’s been different things, the latest when I put down one vector stroke with the Designer paintbrush. So whenever the app crashes, it causes some kind of error in the file itself, and then trying to make any changes to the file and saving it causes the app to crash. Unfortunately I didn’t keep my file but I will next time. Exporting it to desktop and saving it there usually fixes it. I’m using a trial version of the desktop app for these repairs, and wasn’t planning on buying it for desktop so I hope it will be fixed, I will save the file and upload next time as that will likely help in identifying the problem! Girlvsworld Posted November 30, 2022 Author Posted November 30, 2022 I mentioned the other crashes here: Quote
Girlvsworld Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 Latest crashing, whenever I click within a text frame to format text. Will re-save the file on the desktop. Can upload afpub to Dropbox if given link. FullSizeRender.MOV Quote
Girlvsworld Posted December 3, 2022 Author Posted December 3, 2022 I have just noticed that if I tap within the text with my finger and not the pencil it doesn’t crash. It does every time I use the pencil. I have the first gen pencil, maybe this is what is causing the frequent crashes. Quote
Paul RB Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 I have Pencil 2 and I’m still getting the crashing when attempting to edit a text frame. Unfortunately tapping with my finger instead doesn’t fix the problem for me. I cannot edit in linked text frames at all - any attempt causes an immediate crash. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted December 5, 2022 Staff Posted December 5, 2022 That text you have there is not on a path, but on a text frame. Can you save that project as a package and upload it using this link please? https://www.dropbox.com/request/yYOVPOOgs3JCJfEF1GOL . @Paul RB Please create a new thread and we can have a look for you Quote
Girlvsworld Posted December 6, 2022 Author Posted December 6, 2022 I have uploaded a file to the Dropbox. No, no text on a path here, but as I mentioned above there have been a few different actions I have done before the app starts crashing and I don’t know exactly what causes it. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted December 6, 2022 Staff Posted December 6, 2022 Everything seems fine with the file you're attached Can you still replicate it if you open it from the package? Quote
Girlvsworld Posted December 26, 2022 Author Posted December 26, 2022 I have another file that I saved, both by just closing the document and by saving a copy to my iPad so I wouldn't lose my work, and now every time I open either the app crashes. I can upload this file to dropbox as well but the link has expired. As mentioned above, this has happened to me several times with no clear reason, opening the file in the desktop app and resaving it usually fixed the problem. Now I have client work to do and my desktop trial has expired so I can't repair my file. Is there a beta version or some kind of extended trial of the desktop available so I can repair these files as it keeps happening. I don't actually want the desktop version, I was hoping to move to an iPad only workflow. Quote
Girlvsworld Posted December 26, 2022 Author Posted December 26, 2022 I have to say my experience with these apps has been terrible. So very disappointing. Quote
Staff Gabe Posted January 3, 2023 Staff Posted January 3, 2023 You can use this link to upload the file: https://www.dropbox.com/request/56oHZILrvldlt4rk2TO1. Quote
