Spinning Beach Ball

Are you on an M1/M2 Mac and if so do you have System Preferences (System Settings) > Displays > Automatically Adjust Brightness turned on? If so, please turn it off, this is a known issue.

Hi @jaycanuck74

I've not been able to replicate this in v2, could you send me a screenshot of your settings in Preferences > Performance.

Was there anything specific you were doing in v2 when this occurred?

If you could send a screen recording of this in action then that would be helpful.

I'm seeing exactly the same problem iceritchie mentions.

Twice today I've had the beachball for several seconds - one of them was putting two words in the middle of a text box.

M1 Mac. Ran affinity publisher 1.x without a hint of a problem at any time.

At the moment I think I'd be better off going back to Affinity 1 for everything, which makes me sad.

FWIW sometimes the spinning beachball is due to memory issues. When I'm running low on memory Publisher can take forever and a day to do anything. Best solution is to quit Publisher, close some other apps, and then restart it. This is separate from the M1 beachball issue that was due to the automatic brightness and will happen regardless of the brightness setting. It's also not an issue with Affinity.

I keep automatic brightness off most of the time so it's hard for me to track the beachball issue from v1 but I'll turn it on for a while and see what happens.
