Confusion Reigns (for some people)

Recommended Posts

Not a bug but something that some people find confusing .

Ver 1 & Ver 2 can coexist on the computer. Some people like me have just moved to Ver 2, some are keeping Ver 1 and using both to meet clients needs and other have both, using Ver 1 while testing/learning Ver 2. There is confusion over which shortcut refers to which version.

I have always used a round icon for Ver 1 so the square icon (I currently can't change) of Ver 2 means for me I can't get mixed up.

Would it have been better for Serif to have altered slightly the ver 2 icon?

The other thing, ver 2 will overwrite a ver 1 file without warning thereby loosing the ability to open it again in Ver 1 program. Could there have been an option (that could be turned off if required) where by default if ver 2 was going to overwrite a ver 1 file it triggered a warning giving the user the option to rename or overwrite?

Maybe @Patrick Connoror another admin could add their thoughts.

The V2 program icons, on Windows and I think on Mac, have a darker upper-left corner. If that helps...

Please don't tag particular staff. It's not encouraged and won't get threads answered any faster.
