It makes certain workflows difficult, especially when working with StudioLink, because there are raster files which Photo renders as 1bit crisp files while the same files are being rendered blurry by Designer, and vice-versa.

Please forgive if this has been posted before — I could not find it. Also, I do not try to find Affinity weaknesses or to make Affinity looking bad or anything like that — I only post what I think that are issues in my personal workflow, and 1bit files used to be a big part of it.

Kind regards.

Hi iuli, I’m seeing the same thing. A 1px brush tap in studio link Photo persona creates a 2px output (dark grey + light grey. Switch to Designer persona and it renders as a single black square. Standalone Photo px mode works correctly. A bug with StudioLink rendering.

I have queried this with our QA team and this is by designer rather than an issue with studio link.

John McEnroe moment “You gotta be kidding me!”. 😬

Seriously though, why would the same image appear differently in Designer than in Photo but only in Studio Link and, have this occur “by Design”? It makes absolutely no sense.

<pedantry>
John McEnroe’s chosen form of words is/was always “You cannot be serious!”

For the avoidance of doubt, I share the expressed feelings of incredulity about this matter.

@iuli can you share the actual file?

The observation can be either a severe bug, reported for iPad here

and MacOS here

or it can be really “by design” of different rendering view modes. I cannot distinguish based on video only.
