The V2 apps can be downloaded for free (but not used free outside of a trial period) and somehow they talked apple into allowing them to let people use an account login to verify their license purchased outside the app store. So you don't need to use an in-app app store purchase to get the universal license. Buy on web site, login to just one one of the apps and the others pick up the credentials as well as any "extras" downloads. Very slick. And I feel much better when I can bypass the app store.
