Pages Don't Delete

Recommended Posts

I have placed about 10,000 words in about 20 chapters into an Affinity Publisher doc.  It's starting to look like a book.

There are some discrepancies in where blank pages occur and how many.

In several places, I find a pair of  blank (left and right, even and odd numbered) pages between pages with placed text.

I don't seem to have cracked the code re: deleting those pages.  I place the cursor on the paired pages in the 'Pages' column on the left.  I have tried every combination of click and shift click I can think of to select that pair of pages, but whether I right-click and chose "Delete 2 Pages" or click on the trash can, the pages don't delete.

What is most odd is that for an instant they appear to delete, but a moment later they re-appear and nothing has changed.

I can go to the text on a following page and back-delete the first line until it goes backward through the unwanted pages and eventually they will in fact disappear, but that doesn't seem like the ideal solution.

So, what's the trick to deleting a facing pair of pages?

Thank,

That ought to work.

Left clicking off the pages where the pointer is in the left image below should select both pages indicated by a blue border. Right clicking should select both and bring up the menu

That's basically what I thought I was doing.

Yesterday when I posted this query I was working on my 14" MacBook only.  This morning I have the MacBook plugged into a 27" HDMI display, and I am unable to replicate the issue.  Page pairs are deleting precisely as you describe.

I cannot fathom why the larger display would be a factor but... go figger.

I'll return here if the issue shows up again.

Thanks,
