barryhill Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Hi I am designing a CD wallet. The CD title is Legacy and I have an idea to use a current full face photo which is soft fading out into the face of me as a baby. So I need a combination of transparency, distortion. I don't want the effect to be horrific or scary, just mysterious, as if the two faces are melting into time ... ie, legacy. If anyone has done an effect like this using Affinity Photo, I'd welcome any hints and tips, which layer FX might produce something like this? I've had a play myself, but am a bit lost as to which layer FX to use? thanks for any help or ideas Quote

barryhill Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 Thanks to you both. It's the idea of having 'history' in the background of all we do? I want the 'now' face to have the baby face 'in the background of the now face, suggesting that I now have my history or legacy behind me. The sample you included FirstDefence is on its way, but the background 'baby' face isn't replacing any part of the 'now' face ... the baby face is faintly 'in the background' but with a bit of 'merge' between the two, forming a link between the now face and the baby face. The baby face is like a 'ghost face' in the background that is linked to the 'now' face? I am imagining that there will be some FX layer which can add some transparency/blend to a photo with the baby face in a background layer. I am unsure how to get the bland/transparency effect? Sorry if this is a bit metaphysical! Hope that makes the idea a bit clearer? Quote
