RKTodd
The latest version is 2.3.5 (build 2352). You can check/update uour version clicking on the About button on the top right of the plug-in interface. If it still doesn't run it may be something outside Affinity interfering. Do you have any third-party menu apps running like windows managers, clipboards managers and such? As I said earlier, I don't believe there would be anything else like clipboard managers, etc.
RKTodd
Another question: I can run the Portraiture installer, and Affinity Photo does not show up as a host program.
Staff MEB Posted February 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2016 That's expected since most plug-in developers don't support Affinity Photo natively as a host. I´m using a trial here and the About box is a little different from yours as well as the version... i'm not sure this version difference is the cause. I will have to buy it to test this properly. RKTodd
I really appreciate you time working on this... hope I can get it to work soon. Portraiture is very important to my work.
RKTodd
When I click on "Open Default Folder in Finder" I'm taken to this path: (My Name) / library / containers / com.seriflabs.affinityphoto / data / library / application support / plugins / portraiture.plugin Instead of taking me to: /applications / imagnomic / portraiture 2 plug-in Just in case this helps. Staff MEB Posted February 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2016 That's expected. The Open Default Folder button opens a folder where Affinity automatically checks for plug-ins. But since Affinity Photo is not yet recognised as a host it's strange that you have a Portraiture plug-in file there. Have you placed it there manually or pointed to that folder during installation? RKTodd
I did place it there manually. I have removed it now.
Staff MEB Posted February 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2016 Ah ok, try the plug-in now. Maybe your issue is due to a conflict between these plug-in files installed in different locations. RKTodd
That was the first thing I did was to restart and try again....no luck :(
Staff MEB Posted February 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2016 The only thing i can suggest is to download and install the Portraiture trial, and register it with your serial number. Install it on your photoshop plug-ins folder, then point affinity to there so you can access it from both apps. RKTodd
Thanks again! I may give that a try.
RKTodd
Well, for what ever reason, it worked. Also, it is the latest build now too. Thanks so much for sticking with me to get this done :)
Staff MEB Posted February 4, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 4, 2016 You're welcome ^_^ Glad to know it's all sorted out! Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
RKTodd
I came back a few hours later to run some test photos through Affinity Photo and Portraiture and ran into problems. If I choose the output from Portraiture to be "New Layer", Portraiture closes and takes me back to Affinity Photo, with no change to the photo. In other words Portraiture did nothing. If I choose the output to be "Current Layer", Affinity crashes 100% of the time. Also, if I choose "New Document" it's the same as "New Layer". Portraiture does nothing. I did download and install the latest Portraiture Plugin and restarted my machine as instructed by Imagnomic. Any ideas??? UPDATE: This only seems to happen when starting with a RAW file, moving through the Develop Persona, and onto the Photo Persona. When opening an existing JPEG file, Portraiture works as expected. So, it seems that it is not possible to work a RAW file from start to finish when including Portraiture into the workflow. Still open for suggestions. Staff Pauls Posted February 5, 2016 Staff Share Posted February 5, 2016 If you come via RAW then the file format will be 16 bit and you'll be seeing the crash I was getting. Change it to 8 bit ( Document, Colour Format ) before using the plugin.
RKTodd
Ah! Didn't think about that being the cause. I know you mentioned it earlier but I just didn't think about it....thanks!
lexislav
Well, I just make some time to transfer my plugins from PS6 to Affinity Photo. And for me - Portraiture wont create new layer or document neither. No matter if document is 8 or 16bit, color format… opened from raw of afphoto… No new layers with results from Portraiture are created. It works only with Current layer export option. I went trought all recommendations from previous post. Any new ideas on this? thnx
Staff MEB Posted March 24, 2016 Staff Share Posted March 24, 2016 Hi lexislav, Not all plug-ins are functioning at 100%. Currently Portraiture only outputs to the same layer and only works with 8bit images. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff MEB Posted November 16, 2017 Staff Share Posted November 16, 2017 Hi videomaster, Welcome to Affinity Forums Can you give us a few more details? Are you running Windows or macOS? Does the plugin doesn't work for you with 8bit images, or doesn't work at all after the last update? What happens when you try to run it on an 8bit images? I've been testing a few recently but haven't tried Portraiture with the latest version yet. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

videomaster
I upload a video link to how to cope with the problem. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AiicPrUNRCgUgrRcJjvAF9pxKmACgA You need to create a new layer and then after you use the plugin you have to merge both layers
