snorkel Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 When using the place command from the file menu the open dialog routinely gets stuck on *.txt it was doing this prior to version 2 as well. The only way to select other files is to type a * in the filename field of the dialog. the default behavior should be to remember the last type that was used, there is no reason for it to go to *.txt Quote
walt.farrell Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 The intended behavior, I think, is that it will setup that filter based on what Tool is active, and what object is selected. So, if you have one of the Text Tools active, or a Text Frame selected, it helps you by preselecting .txt files. There was a problem in V1 where it sometimes got that wrong, and if you're seeing it in V2 it apparently hasn't been fixed yet.
