About using v2 bugs for PhaseONE IQ RAW files

I am a user of Affinity V1 Universal Licence. I tested the V2 trial version a few days ago.

Now, I found that it has a problem that it can't open RAW format photos files from my PhaseONE IQ camera anymore. Not work. While V1 can open correctly. So I hope you can fix this problem.

Another question is, now it is 2022, is it possible to add real HDR format output support, that is jpeg xl format, and avif, webp2 these new formats in the future, HDR display will become more and more popular, and many HDR1000 display technology can achieve better range. I hope the V2 can achieve these features.

For now, I feel I have no reason or motivation to buy the V2. This is my suggestion and expectation for V2, I think a new version should keep up with the new era technology. Thanks.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

First, a comment, there is no "Affinity V1 Universal License". The V1 apps were all licensed individually, and only V2 has a Universal license. Perhaps you meant you own all 3 V1 apps?

I've seen another report about PhaseONE IQ RAW. If that's not working any more, that is more suitable for a post in the Bug Reports forums than here in Feedback. I"m sure it will be fixed.

JPEG XL can be exported in V2. Perhaps that satisfies part of your request?

Google are dropping support for JPEG-XL from Chrome, the real reason most likely because of the patent awarded to Microsoft which has the potential to kill the format... and WebP 2 doesn't look as though it will ever see the light of day...

Yes, I mean I have all three of the v1 software, Designer, Photo and Publisher. then I'll just have to wait a bit until the bug is fixed and then try opening the RAW file and exporting the jpeg xl file. I hope the trial version doesn't wait until it expires. 😂

Oh man that really doesn't sound like good news, sad, thanks for the explanation about that. It still doesn't look like the future is very clear, too many RAW files simply can't unleash the huge potential of the current HDR displays that are so wasteful.

V2 will read V1 .afphoto files, so if you want to test V2 while your problem is getting sorted, do the conversion in V1, save it and then open in V2.

Can you please confirm for me, what model of PhaseONE IQ camera are you using please? I can confirm that Affinity supports the following 'IQ' models:

To update you here, I've tested my sample RAW file in V2.0.3 beta and this opened as expected - can you please download and install the beta from the below link (this installs separately/independent of V2) and let me know if your RAW files open here?

Very happy to hear the good news that the bugs have been fixed. The bad news is that my trial period is up and I downloaded the Beta 2.0.3.1670 version and installed it and it doesn't work, still tells me that the activation failed. Because I haven't purchased the V2 version yet.

Thanks for letting me know - my apologies as that's my mistake, the beta is only available for full license holders and I note you've been using a trial.
