DanBrizol
Thousands of your users have been asking for DXF Export in Designer for years ..v2 has been released with import only! ..why is this!??? EXPORT functionality is by far the most useful and necessary workflow for 2D & 3D professionals ..I'm dying over here ..or is this some kind of trick? rbenj, Pep75, jussi and 7 others

DanBrizol
Errr.. appreciate your comments but my tone is purposefully playful ..I am a customer after all and I've purchased the full set of AF apps twice. AF is a fantastic alternative to Adobe's absurd price. This is absolutely not in dispute and we love AF for that reason. However, so many users have been asking for this incredibly simple function for so long - we thought from the marketing this was a stated feature in v2. It's like the coders/management either misunderstood or overlooked we were specifically asking for 'export'. To truly be the Adobe killer, we all want, these very basic functions must be included. Please AF 🙏 NKD-MZ, CurranJSmith and WORTHYimage
Intuos5
It's not like you hire a bunch of people to code and they get all features in by the next release. It takes work and thus time. Paul Mudditt

Pšenda
Yes, I have read about the alleged "thousands" of users requesting DXF export. And although this is clearly nonsense, I wonder why the OP even buys apps that don't suit him - and then flaunts them here. You pay the price after they advertise with dxf support. You make your doodle. Want to export it, and find out you need paid subsc for adobe illustrator. For a feature is requesting since the start, that got advertised for V2. And you go about blaming the guy. Just nasty bro. Pšenda
But there is nothing written about "export". However, you should submit a request to Serif to clarify this, as it may be unnecessarily confusing for users. However, if the OP is not satisfied with the application, he can return it within 14 days - after all, that's why I wrote my initial post, to make him aware of this possibility. thomasp
As a 3D guy I've transferred plenty of content from Designer into my 3D applications - via SVG. Is there some trick I'm missing about DXF - can it transfer more than points/lines or does it have other advantages over SVG? Honestly haven't dealt with this format since spending a few hours way back in school, messing around with Auto-Cad. Old Bruce

ashf
Serif just didn't have time to implement it before the v2 release I guess. Still DXF conversion can be done outside of Affinty.
DanBrizol
If you've already coded for import, then coding for export (the more useful and critical of the two functions) must be relatively simple and fast .. Yes you can do this outside of the app but it's a phaf and not very slick .. It's like selling a pair of trainers without the laces .. seemingly unnecessary and leaves you feeling a little uncared for .. As disgruntled ex-Adobe customers we are adopting and investing in the AF platform and they do welcome user feedback ..you do understand AF wants to be better than Adobe right!? To clarify DXF export allows you to accurately send logos/artwork to production companies for signage, brand architecture and interior fit-outs ..DXF is the universal standard used by all fabrication companies. It is essential professional workflow. > love the trolling comment lmao LOB

I've had a different experience. DXF is an essential data format for CAD data, but not for "ornaments" or "elements" produced in 2D drawing programs. May you explain why you find it essential? For you, maybe yes, but for many users, the ability to import drawings from CAD programs that can then be used and edited in Affinity is sufficient, so they don't need to export at all (or only occasionally, so an external tool is not a problem). DanBrizol
Yes, virtually all fabrication companies request artwork files to be supplied in DXF format so they can send it to their CNC production machines. DXF is universal and supported by all platforms so it naturally the defacto format. LOB
FLF
Really deasppointed that the DWG / DXF Export fonction has not been implemenated in this version!
