selfagency
i'm using the new affinity photo 2 on macos ventura and when i press the option button to do things like select the area i want to replicate with the stamp tool, the cursor never changes and when i click i get an error saying i need to select an area. this happens on all such tools. update: if i turn off my the modifier key config i have that swaps the cmd and option keys in macos settings, it works. so it appears that affinity is ignoring macos modifier key settings. Old Bruce
The error should mention you need to use the Option key to Option + Click on the area you want to clone from. Old Bruce
Do you have a Pixel layer selected in the Layers panel? Ron P.
Is the image a Pixel layer, or image (not rasterized)? Are you trying to clone on the same layer, or do you have a blank pixel layer above it? If so then on the Context Toolbar, you need to make sure you've selected Current Layer and Below. selfagency
ok, i identified the problem: i use macos' modifier keys settings to swap the windows/cmd and alt/option keys on the pc keyboard that i use on my mac. when i have the keyswap enabled, affinity cannot detect that i'm pressing the option key. when i turn it off, it works. so that's a bug that needs fixing. Dan C
Hi selfagency, I've tested this with a Microsoft keyboard on a mac running Ventura and cannot replicate it, it behaves as you would expect. I think there may be a possibility this may be something specific to how your HyperX keyboard works. Have you got another keyboard you can test this with?
