Nyks Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Hello, current I'm using the 30-days-trail on windows. I'm mainly interested in Affinity Publisher as I use Lightroom and Photoshop a lot and don't want to replace them. 1. I recognised the "persona"-tool in the upper left corner. Is it required to purchase all 3 programs, to use the persona-tools? 2. Is it possible to connect Photoshop as image-editor to Affinity Publisher? Quote

APublisher uses any external images that may have been edited in any application. Only if you use *.afphoto/afdesign documents (embedded documents), they can then be edited directly in the respective application. Nyks Posted November 16, 2022 Author Posted November 16, 2022 1.) Thanks for the clarification on the "personas". 2.) Ok, there is probably no function for that - of course it works without it. Theoretically, it would be possible for Publisher to submit an image to an external (third-party) image processing software and then receive the result back (e.g. as a new layer). Quote
Ron P. Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Something new including in Publisher 2, is the ability to edit RAW images inside of Publisher. I think you need Photo though for this. Have a look at this video by James Ritson about what's new in Photo. In doing that video he had to show off this feature of Publisher because It's too cool.. These plugins are of course built for this "two-way" flow of image data, but the photo editor you choose would have to be able to do the same, which I don't know if any can do - rather, they are prepared for transferring the image to it, not from it. NZPussikat Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 If you have Publisher, can you only link the Photo persona and not a Photo V2 persona? Quote

If you want to use StudioLink, you must have the same versions of APhoto/ADesigner installed as you have APublisher. So APublisher V1 runs Personas from APhoto/ADesigner V1, APublisher V2 then Personas from APhoto/ADesigner V2.
