Brent Pedersen
Love the program. I made 400+ page interactive PDF. Today I tried to add a new anchor (Anchor 284 it said). I type in the name for the anchor and click OK and it pauses for a sec and then crashes. I restarted the computer, shut down the computer and tried again without any other apps running and still happens. Did a Save As.. and opened the new file and same thing. Is there a limit to the number of anchors Affinity Publisher can add? Any suggestions? Win
firstdefence
I'm not aware of a limit but others may know more about the use of anchors. There is no mention of a limit in the help files, nor on the specs pages of the website. MikeTO
There's no limit that a sane person will ever hit. It's easy to create a test doc with lots of anchors. I created one with 25 anchors then copied and pasted all of them to get to 100. Then copied and pasted them all to get to 1000. Then copied and pasted again. I lost track but I think I was in the tens of thousands. So if it's repeatedly crashing at anchor 284 it's something specific to your document. What happens if you try adding an anchor somewhere else in the document? Brent Pedersen
I just tried adding an anchor to another page. Still crashes it. The file is on my work laptop (Win10 w/ OneDrive) so if the file is corrupt, my OneDrive back up is also probably corrupt (unlike my Mac where time machine could open an earlier version). MikeTO
Hopefully Serif will offer help when things calm down but until then here are some more troubleshooting tips you could try. Can you edit other anchors? Try changing their name, deleting them, moving them... If you delete another anchor can you add a new one? Can you add hyperlinks to anchors? Also of course ensure you can add anchors to a new document. Staff Lee D Posted February 10, 2023 Staff Share Posted February 10, 2023 @Brent Pedersen Are you still having issues with anchors? Have you updated Publisher to 1.10.6 or even upgraded to V2 (2.04 latest)?
