Affinity Publisher Crashes When Using Autoflow Text

Recommended Posts

I was so delighted finding out there was an autoflow feature that'd automatically create new pages & frame texts, but I found when I went to use it, it crashes every single time. 😢 I tried:

  • resetting the user settings (both through holding down CTRL when opening and renaming the com.serif file for Publisher to generate a new one);
  • stopped documents from starting up on start up;
  • tested small sections (less than 3 pages) of the same document (128 pages);
  • tested a different word document file with less pages;
  • tested a standard size doc (as opposed to my custom-size one) with two different files;
  • tested a plain document as opposed to my graphical one;
  • tested placing text instead of copying & pasting it;
  • did NVRAM and SMC resets;
  • updated my Mac;
  • tested out Publisher V2;

Everything still crashed.

Sometimes it would crash shortly after creating a bunch of pages (as far as I could see), but other times it'd crash immediately after I initiated the autoflow.

I have attached the crash report. Is there anyone who can help me figure out how to get it working?

Thank you!

Welcome to the forums @trainerkelly,

Are you encountering the app crashing when trying to auto flow a specific text file or does this happen regardless of what text you try and auto flow? Could you possibly provide me with an .afpub document that you're experiencing this issue on so I can try and replicate your issue?

Many thanks
