Link to exe file? From third part apps.

Recommended Posts

So v2 of of photo, where is the exe file?

Because apps like Capture One, LR and Rawtherapee you can link to an external app for further editing.

Version 1 had a good old exe file, version 2 installs into a folder called WindowsApps which isn't accessable.

How can we link third party app to open Affinity Photo v2?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Britman.

The FAQ below will indicate how to do it, if your 3rd-party app properly supports Windows App Execution Aliases. Unfortunately, there are a number of them that don't properly support that Windows function.

In those cases, the FAQ also provides an alternatiplan torelease an MSI installer as an alternative to the MSIX installer, which should remove the need to use the alternative method.

In addition to what Walt posted, you should know that it gets complicated which is why there has been heated discussion in these forums over the past few days. Solutions and explanations and various error responses evoked when trying to configure an application to open an image in Affinity 2 are scattered through several threads, some of which have hundreds of posts.

You might find a couple of my summary posts helpful.

We eagerly wait for a new installation file that will use MSI to install Affinity 2 as traditional Windows program rather than using MSIX to install as a Windows App in the hidden folder with other Windows Apps.
