Selecting multiple single objects through different groups

I am trying to select items through multiple groups, as I am constantly working through 3 different color layers, but with identical objects.

I need to select through multiple groups only a few items to move them around or delete etc.

How can I do that?

In Adobe Illustrator you just drag select over the items you want to select & it selects only those items you drag selected over.

But in Affinity Designer it just select the whole groups & EVEN the groups/layers that are locked...

Please help.

Have you tried selecting the layers that contain those items?
