What's happening with this opened pdf file?

Greetings all,

I was hoping to be able to copy and paste some material from this document to facilitate referencing correctly. When I open the file in APub I get single lines with red dots at each end. What's happening here?

Attached are the screen shots and the pdf file if that is of any use.

Hi Murfee, thanks for replying.

When that is ticked the text no longer has the red dots at the end but can only be copied line by line. Not that useful.

Both boxes were ticked when I opened the file and I have no problems selecting text

Right, problem solved. I had it in my head it was an either or and had tried it the other way around. Thank you very much Murfee.
