Support for Blender

Recommended Posts

Hi @Jack Underscore

Why don't you ask in the Blender forum if they have support for the Affinity format?
Why does a software always have to support the format of a competitor? Do you think Adobe will bother to support the Affinity format?

This would actually be the route that you need to take. Not a competition aspect at all, but simply support for file formats Blender enables.

Can you either add better saving support to PSD formats or somehow make a plugin so I can use affinity files natively in Blender? It is a major pain in the butt to always have to export to PSD while texturing in Blender.

I'm curious, what is it about the PSD format that is required (or desired) for Blender textures? Would a PNG or TIF not work the same? I don't claim any real experience with 3D textures, but it seems odd to me that a proprietary Adobe file format would be the best choice for a highly established FOSS app like Blender.
