KarstenFE Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Hi all, I am relatively new to Publisher and wonder how to hand over L*a*b* colour definitions used in elements from a publisher layout to a PDF. So far I have tried with setting up the layout itself in Lab-mode and defined the colours itself as such (normal colour patch, spot colour patch). But when exporting the page layout to PDF and afterwards checking the elements in Callas PDF Toolbox, all colours are stated to be CMYK representatives. Not sure if I missed something out or if it not possible. In order to avoid unnecessary comments: I do have reasons for doing so! … and thus for asking if it can be done in Publisher 2 Thanks for any help Quote
lacerto Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 I spent a fair amount of time both with version 1 and 2 of Publisher trying to produce PDF in L*a*b color space but without luck (both with spot swatches having Lab-definitions, and direct Lab definitions, and the document color space having variably Lab/16 or wide gamut RGB color spaces). While colors can have off-sRGB wide gamut in GUI, exporting to PDF produces colors at best in wide gamut RGB color space but so far I have not managed to produce anything defined in Lab. Quote
