Hi,

In Affinity Photo v2.0.0 on macOS and Windows, I cannot call presets in the Procedural Texture filter. The list of presets is empty. If I open the "Manage Presets..." editor, presets are listed however.

Hi @barnold84,

Thanks for your report and our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. We are exceptionally busy following the release of V2 and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding here.

I can confirm that the Presets in the Procedural Texture are Colour Space dependant. If you open the Preset Manager, you can see RGB next to each entry, indicating these are only compatible with RGB documents.

I suspect you have a CMYK/LAB/Grey colour space document open, in which case there are no presets provided with the Procedural Texture filter, hence this menu is empty.

If you convert your document to RGB (Document > Convert Format / ICC profile) then you should find these presets appear.

I hope this helps :)

OK, according to the mathematical operations applied here this will make sense, I guess – in Photoshop back in the day there also were certain things you could only do in RGB, so it's nothing new, actually. Nevertheless, I wish there would be some alert or help pop-up in Affinity Photo which tells you about it when – while working on a CMYK document – you’re trying to do something which is strictly RGB-only.

The app just opening the panel for such a feature which is then showing "would be options" that cannot actually be applied, though, and so leaving the unsuspecting user initially clueless about what's going on here for a good while is not really great user interface style I'd say... it shouldn't be that hard to implement some kind of help function or tool tip for this, should it?
