Selecting in layer panel on iPad

Recommended Posts

Maybe it’s just me, but I really don’t like the new context menu I get when swiping from right to left on objects in the layer panel.

Again this might be a problem only I have because of my workflow but in the past it was way more convenient to select objects within the layer panel. The context menu really slows me down.

Oh, so that's how to get the context menu?! :)
I'm new to the iPad versions so I have no comparison to v1. But now that I know about it, it seems OK to me.
My only criticism so far would be that just like some other functions that require a "long tap", it's not very obvious that it's there without "r.t.f.m."

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

Sorry my bad, I figured it out. They changed the direction. Instead of swiping from right to left you can now quick select by swiping from left to right.

Its always been left to right to select and right to left to deselect but in v2 deselect has been removed. Now, a new pop up menu appears when the right to left gesture is performed. I dont like this. Our deselect is gone. Im just figuring this out and sad about it.
