Want Publisher to add the function of generating picture descriptions

I need an image annotation function like InDesign, which generates image annotations under the image according to the image file name;

I often import hundreds of photos at a time, and add a picture description after typesetting. Now I can only copy and paste the name of each photo. If there is an automatic generation function, it will greatly save time.

@huangzhikang, I would love to see this capability added. Personally I would like this to scriptable as well but we'll have to wait and see if it is added.

Adding captions and an index of figures would be an excellent addition to Affinity Publisher.

Come to that, so would a bibliography feature for academic works.
