cramosm
I am very happy with Affinity Publisher v.2, especially for being able to add footnotes and other type of notes to my files. I have a book almost ready to go to print which I was working with v.1 and v.2 came right on time. But there is glitch, apparently. I uploaded the document created with v.1 and everything was going fine until I attempted to add new index cross references. The program will put a notice that it is impossible to reference an empty topic. But this is not true, since the referenced topic has marked references in it. I am working with a Mac Mini M1 with the latest OS.
MikeTO
I've duplicated this bug, also on macOS. It happens when creating a cross reference to an existing topic but not when creating a cross reference when the topic is created. So the workaround is to add cross references when creating a topic. Start by renaming the existing topic (e.g, Oranges) to something else (e.g., OrangesX). Create a new topic with the original name, Oranges. Then drag each marker from the original topic OrangesX to the new topic Oranges. When you're done you can delete the original topic, OrangesX. Steps to reproduce: Ctrl + click an existing index topic and then choose Add Cross Reference Select the name of an existing index topic from the list and click OK Results in the error Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.5 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.5 for macOS Sequoia 15.1, MacBook Pro 14" (M4 Pro)
cramosm
Thanks. The workaround worked. I hope, though that this glitch will be fixed in the future. This did not happen in Affinity Publisher v.1. MikeTO
