Gianni Becattini Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 I think I understood how it happens. 1) you double click a picture in Publisher. 2) the "local" editor opens in a panel; 3) you close it, but in some way it remain locked to Publisher 4) the save of Photo fails, because the file has not been released by Publisher Is it possible? www.k100.biz
walt.farrell Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 More details would be needed. For example, In Publisher, was it an Embedded or Linked file? How did you get it open in Photo? When did you get it open in Photo (compared with when you used it in Publisher)? Double-clicking it in Publisher would only open it in a tab in Publisher, not in the Photo application. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Gianni Becattini Posted November 12, 2022 Author Posted November 12, 2022 1, all files are linked 2, the problem seems related to opening the photo in Publisher when it is also open in Photo, if I am right. It seems that Publisher "keeps" the file and Photo don't like that and crashes. walt.farrell 1 www.k100.biz
Staff Gabe Posted November 14, 2022 Staff Posted November 14, 2022 Was that just one one-off? If not, can you attach a screen recording of your workflow?
