seabirdr
I drag a file to the Affinity Designer icon on the taskbar, and the window cannot be activated. Windows 10 Affinity Designer 2.0.
walt.farrell
Is that icon on the Taskbar because the application is running? Or did you somehow create an icon on the Taskbar that remains there all the time? In this case, please let us know how you created it. seabirdr
Thank you for your concern. I recorded a screen video. It can be seen that I dragged a file to the Affinity Designer V1 to activate it, and the Affinity Designer V2 couldn't be activated. 20221113 122553106 cant drag to activate.mp4
walt.farrell
Thanks for the recording. I agree that's a change, and I can confirm that I can recreate that behavior, too. It looks like it is could be a bug, unless the programs are now simply designed not to accept files that way. Serif will let us know when they get to your report here. Staff Chris B Posted November 23, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 23, 2022 Hey seabirdr, From what I can tell, it seems the app will only call to the forefont if it's the first app you drag the image to. In my case, this is true. So if I have V1 and V2 open and full-screen and then I drag an image from Explorer to V2, V2 will gain focus. I then cannot drag an image to V1 as it will not come into focus. However, in your video I can see you drag to V2 first and it doesn't gain focus. I am at a bit of a loss as to what is happening here. I will need to look into this. Ron P.
@Chris B, FWIW, I can drag to V1 or V2 and it matters not which I drag to first. Each are brought into focus while hovering over the icon in my Taskbar, with an image. Also after doing the recording I realized the post refers to Designer, HOWEVER I can drag, activate (bring to focus) either version of Designer. 2022-11-23 08-16-39.mp4 Chris B 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.4..; Affinity Designer 2.4..; Affinity Publisher 2.4..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Staff Chris B Posted November 23, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 23, 2022 I've just had a look on a few Windows forums and lots of people are complaining about drag & drop on Windows 11 which was initially seemingly released without this feature as they had build the OS from the ground up. Ron P.
I just tried with AP V1 & V2, AD V1 & V2 all open at the same time. Took a photo from File Explorer, and was able to gain focus on each version. 😕 2022-11-23 10-06-16.mp4 Edited November 23, 2022 by Ron P.
