Why are some of the Adjustments NOT being added as Layers in Photo?

Recommended Posts

I've not used Photo much but I'm using V2 now to sort out some photos for my Etsy shop and in V1 if I applied an Adjustment it always added this as a layer above the layer the photo was on - but in V2 if I apply the Brightness/Contrast Layer it now sort of adds it to the Layer, whereas if I apply a Hue/Saturation Layer is does it the same way as V1

Just wondered why the subtle change?

I quite liked the way it did/does it compared to Photoshop because it allows me to turn Layers off and on to see what looks best

I just checked all adjustments from the Adjustments panel, and each is being added as a layer.

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

Check 'Settings > Assistant' and there set 'Adding adjustment layer to selection:' to 'Add adjustment as new layer'.

This should work as you are asking for.
