Hopfentramp
First, only little annoying: when creating a new text style (i. e. paragraph), the previously shown name is not deleted and both names are displayed in the same place: When setting an index marker, when some markes are yet set, the menu for parent topics becomes ugly: I created some index items and wondered, after a while, for some indexed items, the page numbers are gone, actualizing the index changes nothing. As we see on the left, in the list the page numbers are still existing, but not displayed on my inex page. Also, in the options, the "Trennelement" has the option for a tab to the right border, but he changes immediately to a normal left tab: Anyway, Affinity 2 seems very promising! MikeTO
I believe the 'double text' issue with a few text fields is specific to Ventura and Serif knows about it. As to the bigger issue of missing page numbers in your index, I have no idea. Was it working fine in v1 and then you opened it in v2, updated the index, and some page numbers just disappeared? I don't think Serif changed anything with the Index feature so it's very odd. Hopfentramp
I‘m using Publisher since beta and 1.0 version. But i had up to now never used an index. I missed indeed footnotes more… My document is totally new in 2.0 and not from a 1.x version. Also i use Mac OS Big Sur (11.7.1), so it can‘t be a Monterey- or Ventura-problem. With further testing today i recognized that the parent topics heald itself and displays now correctly. I don‘t know why. For the missing page numbers i deleted the first index item with this error and set it new. For now all the missing page numbers are back, i will see if it stays like that and if this error comes back or can be reproduced. With working on the index i miss now a possibility to edit the 'style correction' for the index entries page numbers. I can set one with the setting of a new index marker, but after that i can not change that. Ctrl-clicking on the name i can change the name and topics but not this style. The dialog boxes for the index stuff can be optimized too. The background (mostly the document) is covered with gray and the dialog box can not be moved. Why? Sometimes the box covers a part of the document i want to read and check, so i have to cancel the dialog, check, and do the action again. Also the boxes have the same display problem as the text style boxes: You can click in the other text field or the popup, then it‘s displayed correctly. But i think this shouldn‘t be necessary. I don't think you can change the Style Override (correction) for index markers once you've created an index marker. I agree it should be improved. In fact, I stopped using this feature because it doesn't work in certain layouts. The issue with not being able to move the index window is a limitation of some of the older dialog boxes in Affinity. I think Serif is replacing them with movable ones as they update the interface. The index feature didn't get any improvements in v2 so this is the same as v1. The issue with the doubled text in the text field is a known problem - it's in several windows like this. Hopefully it will be fixed, soon. Staff EmT Posted November 23, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 23, 2022 Hi @Hopfentramp We are aware of this issue and I've passed over your example to the devs to help with their investigation. It does not appear to be related to your OS version and only appears to occur when using the Light UI style.
