Aammppaa
Layer > Geometry > Separate Curves achieves what you are expecting. I am not sure why divide doesn't work though. Taylor Street
That worked perfectly @Aammppaa. Thanks for that tip! I'm sure they'll issue a fix for divide at some point. Staff Sean P Posted November 23, 2022 Staff Share Posted November 23, 2022 Hi Morax, Thanks for letting us know. As Aammppaa has said the correct procedure is to use the Separate Curves option, however I'll pass your feedback over to development. Staff Affinity Info Bot Posted April 6, 2023 Staff Share Posted April 6, 2023 The issue "Divide no longer performs a separate curves action on single objects" (REF: AFD-6176) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1742/3". This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release. Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions. If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us. Samuel Mattos
Hi, you broke the tool. I used divide tool to separate different geometry while maintaining their inner parts, like when you have a text in a single curve, you can either separate curves, which makes every letter holes into separate curves, or the divide tool, to separate them, while maintaining the holes. Now both tools do exactly the same thing. Thats not intelligent. I divided it on inkscape to show what I mean, cause it no longer divides as it should Affinity Designer 2 2023-08-03 08-43-08.mp4

Before the fix you asked, "divide" separated the object by loose parts, and you'd use separate curves to do just that that you've shown. Now they both do exatly the same
