However V2 has lost all the default assets from the Asset panel.

By default there are no assets in the "Default" category in the Assets studio, so you will need to create them yourself.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7
Affinity Photo
1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

As R C-R mentioned, the Default category in Assets has nothing. The category name is a pull-down, and you ay have some other categories that show up there, that actually have something.

If you added any Assets to Defaults yourself, and if you responded Yes when V2 asked you to migrate V1 content, they should have shown up in V2 as well.

Thank you Sir,

OK weird - I didnt create any assests but the trial had loads - and that is my point they dont appear in V2. They were listed under a cetegory of default in the asset panel in V1 and now - nada.

and I found this...which describes the stuff that appears to be missing:-

No, they were part of v1. You can export them and then import into v2 manually. Unlike v1, they can now be even shared between all three apps.

MacBookAir 15": MacOS Ventura > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // MacBookPro 15" mid-2012: MacOS El Capitan > Affinity v1 / MacOS Catalina > Affinity v1, v2, v2 beta // iPad 8th: iPadOS 16 > Affinity v2

Not for me. They were in a category named "iOS 12" (just like in your screenshot above).
