Drag for eye dropper malfunction

Recommended Posts

This issue is not about how weird it is that you have to hold and drag to get the sampler to come up. (But that is really weird.)

While painting; using the eye dropper is as commonplace as painting itself. Often times trying to get the sampler to pop requires three or four separate touches. This is because the duration of the touch prior to the drag required for invoking the eye dropper isn’t signified by any change in the UI. I have no idea when to start dragging; so I miss-fire the process several times and then either:

* It mysteriously works

* I say screw it and switch tools

It appears that the meta-key-dingus also requires a drag to bring up the eye dropper; and while that doesn’t suffer from the same problem as the tap-hold-drag “Process”; it does have its own issues.

I’d much rather just tap and hold for 0.3 seconds, get the sampler, have it select the color under my finger, and move on with my life. It is very rare that I have to dial in a color by moving the loupe. The way it works now; I always have to re-find the color I want after the loupe “appears” - I guess this issue is about how weird it is, after all.
