I am new to this software. My problem is that when I want to make child layers on selected layer the program just groups my objects together on the same layer. I have no access to the grouped layers. The layer menu does not make sub-menus for me to access them so I can not select the objects. I have watched and followed all the tutorials and it still won't make child layers. Any help would be great thank you.

PrettyPills,

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. You didn't mention which program you are having issues with? I'm guessing that the reason you are having problems is, you have to make a new layer first. Look at my attached example to see where to click to add a new layer. Try that and see if it clears up your problems.

Best of luck,

Hokusai

Thank you Hokasai. I have made a new layer as a 'parent' layer. I have done that every time before I made 'child' layers. The problem is that I can not access the 'child' layers. They disappear within the 'parent layer'!  I am running 10.8.5. Oval you said this is a bug. How do I fix it?

Look here and download the Beta. Download the new 1.4.1

(Perhaps we will get an MAS update soon: Andy: “we'll be submitting this branch to the store on Monday – which means after it's all released we can start to release beta builds with new features in again”. Yes: it is out!)
